Privacy Policy
Overview
GymBro ("we", "us", "our") lets people log workouts, sets, reps, and equipment, and train with friends through shared workouts and scheduling. This policy explains what information GymBro collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. It applies to the GymBro app at this domain and any related GymBro apps.
Information we collect
When you create an account, we collect the information you provide directly or through your chosen sign-in method (email/password or Google Sign-In): your name, email address, and profile photo if available. As you use GymBro, we collect the data you log yourself: workouts, sets, reps, weights, equipment you've added, friend connections, and scheduled sessions. We also collect basic technical data automatically, such as login timestamps, device/browser type, and general usage of the app, to keep the service working and secure.
How we use it
We use your information to operate GymBro: to authenticate you, store and display your workout history, show your equipment list, connect you with friends you add, and support shared workouts and scheduling. We also use it to maintain and improve the app, respond to support requests, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing with friends
GymBro is built around training with people. If you add someone as a friend or take part in a shared workout, certain information — such as your name, profile photo, and the workout data tied to that shared session — becomes visible to the people you've connected with. Your equipment list and personal workout history are private to your account unless you choose to share them as part of a shared workout.
Third-party services
GymBro is built on Google Firebase for authentication and data storage. Firebase (and Google, where you use Google Sign-In) processes some of your data on our behalf under its own privacy terms as our service provider. We don't share your data with other third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Storage & security
Your data is stored in Firebase's Realtime Database, protected by access rules that restrict most data to the account that created it, with limited, explicit exceptions for data you choose to share (like shared workouts). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your rights
You can review and update most of your information directly in the app. You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at the address below — we'll act on deletion requests promptly, except where we need to retain limited information for legal or security reasons.
Children's privacy
GymBro is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your country), and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
Terms of Service
Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using GymBro, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy above. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
The service
GymBro is a workout-tracking app that lets you log exercises, sets, reps, and equipment, and coordinate training with friends through shared workouts and scheduling. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
Accounts
You need an account to use GymBro, created with an email and password or through Google Sign-In. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know right away if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
Acceptable use
Use GymBro for its intended purpose: tracking your own training and coordinating workouts with people you know. Don't use the app to harass or harm others, impersonate someone else, upload content you don't have rights to, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the service.
Your workout data
You own the workout data you log. By using GymBro, you give us permission to store, process, and display that data as needed to provide the service to you — including to friends you've explicitly connected with or shared a workout with.
Shared workouts
When you take part in a shared workout or connect with a friend, you're choosing to make relevant data (like that session's sets and reps) visible to that person. Once shared, we can't control what the people you've shared with do with that information outside the app.
Health & fitness disclaimer
GymBro is a logging and coordination tool, not a source of medical, fitness, or nutritional advice. Talk to a qualified professional before starting a new exercise program, especially if you have an existing health condition. You're responsible for exercising safely and within your own limits; GymBro isn't liable for injuries related to your training.
Termination
You can stop using GymBro and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, misuse the service, or pose a risk to other users.
Disclaimer of warranties
GymBro is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GymBro and its operators aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including data loss or injury related to your training.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [your jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Update this section with the jurisdiction that actually applies to you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as GymBro evolves. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
